Sagar, who joins HCL from AON Hewitt, will lead the People Strategy and its execution as the company builds further momentum on its transformation pillars, HCL Infosystems said in a statement.
"Our People strategy is core to our growth plans and towards that, it was important that we entrust this to a professional, whose experience and credentials across HR consulting, strategy and execution aligns with our focus on people aligned transformation," HCL Infosystems Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Premkumar Seshadri said.
Focus will be on setting up biz incubators: TiECON * This year's annual TiECON (The Indus Entrepreneurs) Conference would focus on setting up Business Incubators in colleges and the theme of the event is "Entrepreneurship 360".
"With an aim to encourage entrepreneurship among students in Tamil Nadu, TiE Chennai will help colleges in the State to set up Technology Business Incubators in the respective college campuses.", TiECON Chennai President and TiE, Board of Trustee, Member, Lakshmi Narayanan said today.
A year-long programme will be launched during the conference in which faculty members of over 30 colleges were expected to take part, he said.
Kotak Bank launches SMS-based application for online banking * With data connectivity on the mobiles being an issue, the fourth largest private sector lender Kotak Mahindra Bank (KMB) today launched a banking application which uses SMS technology to complete transactions.
"There are many areas where there is no connectivity or limited bandwidth where mobile banking becomes difficult. Customers in such areas can now enjoy phone banking using our Kotak Bharat App," the city-based lender's president for consumer banking, Shanti Ekambaram said.
The service is available only for Android users, who occupy a bulk 90 per cent of the smartphone market. Customers will have to download the application from the Play Store or take it from a peer over bluetooth.
