In response to reports relating to investigations against one of its employees, HDFC Bank said, "we would like to state that the matter is being examined internally on top priority. The Bank is also extending its full cooperation and support to the authorities as they conduct their investigations".
In a BSE filing it further said: "We would like to assure our customers and other stakeholders that the bank has always adhered to the highest standards of compliance and corporate governance and will continue to do so".
"Stringent action is taken both at an organisational and employee level, and as per process the employee in question has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation," HDFC Bank added.
Bank of Baroda officers are facing probe by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Rs 6,000 crore illegal remittances case.
As many as six persons including two officials of the Bank of Baroda -- S K Garg and Jainish Dubey -- have been arrested in this case for criminal conspiracy, cheating and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The ED has arrested four persons, including an HDFC bank employee, in connection with the case.
The directorate arrested Kamal Kalra, working with the foreign exchange division of HDFC bank, Chandan Bhatia, Gurucharan Singh Dhawan and Sanjay Aggarwal after marathon questioning at its office here.
