In a BSE filing it further said: "We would like to assure our customers and other stakeholders that the bank has always adhered to the highest standards of compliance and corporate governance and will continue to do so".
The bank, it added, has a zero-tolerance policy for any misconduct on the part of its staff and any deviation from its clearly defined processes is viewed very seriously.
"Stringent action is taken both at an organisational and employee level, and as per process the employee in question has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation," HDFC Bank added.
