In the wake of the strong 7.9 magnitude earthquake in Nepal, action has been initiated to assess the health of hydraulic structures of the mountainous country on the rivers flowing into India, the Government said today.
Minister of State for Water Resources Sanwar Lal Jat told the Lok Sabha that no specific study has been conducted on landslides caused by the earthquake in Nepal increasing the threat of floods in India.
