"So far 24 cases of deaths due to sunstroke have been reported. Of these, inquiry reports in nine cases have been received from concerned district collectors. Two cases have been confirmed as heat related deaths," a report from the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) said.
While a man died of sunstroke in Cuttack district, another woman died in Mayurbhanj district. Deaths in seven other cases have been found to be due to other reasons, the report said, adding the remaining 15 cases were under inquiry by the district authorities.
