Heat wave continues in Raj, Churu sizzles at 48.6 deg C

Mercury remained variably above normal in most parts of the state despite light to moderate rainfall at isolated places in Kota and Udaipur divisions during the last 24 hours, the Met office said.

While temperature at Sriganganagar and Dholpur stood at 46.8 and 45.1 deg C, Bikaner, Pilani, Kota, Barmer districts recorded temperatures of 45.5, 44.4, 44.3, 43.7 deg C respectively.

Capital Jaipur registered a temperature of 43.6 deg C, the Met office said, adding that the condition is likely to persist during next 24 hours.
