Heat wave intensifies in UP

Blistering heat wave prevailed at some places in Uttar Pradesh today, where Banda recorded the maximum temperature at 47.4 degree Celsius.
According to local MET office, heat wave conditions were witnessed at one or two places in Allahabad division and many places in Jhansi and Agra divisions.
Temperature was appreciabely above normal in Allahabad, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Meerut divisions, above normal in Gorakhpur, Moradabad divisions and were normal in the remaining parts of the state.
The Met department said in its forecast that weather would remain mainly dry over the state in the next 24 hours.
