Heat wave intensifies, Ludhiana hottest at 46.3 C

Heat wave conditions sweeping Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh today further intensified, with Ludhiana turning out to be the hottest place at 46.3 degrees Celsius.
Blistering heat also singed Amritsar, which recorded a high of 46.1 deg C, up seven notches. Patiala was hotter by six degrees at 44.7 deg C.
Chandigarh, too, had no relief from heat wave, recording a high of 42.6 deg C, five above normal.
Hisar was the hottest place in Haryana at 46.2 deg C, five above normal.
Narnaul (45.6 C), Bhiwani (44.5 C) experienced a hot day while Karnal and Ambala recorded identical maximums of 43 deg C each.
The MeT department in its forecast said heat wave to severe heat wave conditions may occur in some parts of Punjab and Haryana during the next four days.
