Heatwave claims life at polling booth

Heatwave claimed the life of a booth-level officer maintaining the queue outside a polling station in Burdwan district of West Bengal, where the third phase of assembly election was held today.
Rabindranath Ghosh (40), involved in queue information system at booth number 65 in Mangalkot constituency died after suffering a sunstroke as he was standing for long hours, EC officials said.
Burdwan district is reeling under a heatwave and Asansol town recorded a temperature of 44 degrees Celsius during the day, IMD official said.
