Heatwave continues in Pb, Hry; Hisar hottest at 44.6 deg C

Severe heatwave conditions continued to prevail across Punjab and Haryana today with Hisar being the hottest place in the region at 44.6 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature of Hisar in Haryana was four notches above normal, the MeT office said here.
Karnal too sizzled at 43 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal, while Ambala recorded a high of 42.7 degrees Celsius, again five notches above normal.
In Punjab, Patiala had a hot day at 43.1 degrees Celsius, six notches above normal, while Amritsar's maximum settled at 41 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
Sweltering heat conditions prevailed in Ludhiana as well where the mercury touched 42.8 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal.
The maximum temperature of Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, was 42 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
The MeT office has forecast a possibility of rains or thundershowers at isolated places of the two states tomorrow.
