The lower hills of Himachal Pradesh continued to reel under heatwave even as several areas of the state received mild showers and the sky remained partially overcast.
Strong velocity winds swept the mid and higher hills followed by showers, causing a marginal drop in the mercury, MeT office said.
However, there was no appreciable change in the maximum temperatures during the last 24 hours over the state which stayed 5 to 6 degrees above normal.
Una in Shivalik foothills was the hottest in the region with maximum temperature at 44.8 degree, four degrees above normal, the MeT said.
Sundernagar recorded a high of 38.3 degree, while Nahan and Dharamsala recorded maximum temperatures of 37.8 degree and 36.8 degree, followed by Bhuntar 36.5 degree, Solan 35 degree, Shimla 29.5 degree and Manali 27.6 degree, a drop of two degrees since yesterday, the MeT said.
The minimum temperatures remained steady with Nahan registering the highest during the night at 26.7 degree, followed by Dharamsala and Shimla at 21.5 degree, Una 21 degree, Sundernagar 18 degree, Bhuntar 13.4 degree, Manali 10 degree, Kalpa 9.4 degree and Keylong 7.4 degree.
The local MeT office has predicted that the heatwave conditions would prevail in the districts of Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and parts of Mandi and Sirmaur districts over the next two days.
Meanwhile, the flow of Sutlej was blocked by some time due to a massive landslide at Urni near Tapri on industan-Tibet road, but the blockade was removed by flushing water from Karchham dam, according to Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur D D Sharma.
