Heavy rainfall and thunder shower likely in Odisha

Heavy rainfall and thunder shower coupled with gusty surface wind is likely to lash several parts of Odisha due to a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal.
Under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation, a low pressure area has formed over Northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas, the meteorological centre here said today.
Under its impact, rain or thunder shower is very likely to occur at most places over north and south Odisha during next 24 hours and increase thereafter, it said.
Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at one or two places over coastal districts of Odisha in next 24 hours.

Gusty surface wind with 35 to 45 kmph speed and up to 50 kmph may prevail along and off South Odisha coast. Sea condition would be moderate to rough in South-Odisha coast and fishermen are advised to be cautious while venturing into sea in South-Odisha Coast, the MeT office said.
