Overnight rains in Kolkata till 8.30 am this morning was recorded at 22.1 mm, the Met department said.
Diamond Harbour and sea resort town of Digha recorded 33.1 mm and 32.6 mm precipitation respectively during the same period, the met department said.
The festive spirit, continuing through the weekend though the Durga Puja ended yesterday in accordance with the almanac, was marred to a large extent owing to intermittent showers.
A large number of pandal hoppers ventured to different parts of the city since morning but the rains that continued during the day time played spoilsport. Some areas in adjoining Howrah even got waterlogged due to the sharp showers.
