Heavy snowfall in Lahaul-Spiti brings down temperature in HP

Snowfall in the upper hills of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday has brought down temperature across the state.

The tribal district of Lahaul and Spiti experienced heavy rain and snowfall. Rohtang Pass received as much as 1.5 feet of snow by 6 pm, officer commanding 70 RCC Lieutenant Colonel DS Bisht said.

While the Met department has already predicted heavy rain in Himachal in general and snowfall in the high hilly areas till September 24, Bisht said efforts would be made on war footing to open the Rohtang Pass for vehicles once the heavy rain stopped.
