Heavyweights file their nomination forms from Ahmedabad East

Actor and BJP nominee for Ahmedabad (East) Lok Sabha seat Paresh Rawal and Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela were among the prominent candidates who filed their nomination papers today.
Today 15 BJP, 11 Congress and 13 AAP candidates filed their nominations today.
Soma Ganda Patel from Surendranagar, Dr Tushar Chaudhari from Bardoli (ST) and Vikram Madam from Jamnagar were among the Congress heavyweights who filed their nominations.
Along with them, Congress candidates for Dahod (ST), Rajkot, Surat, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad West (SC), Panchmahal and Valsad(ST) too filed their nominations.
"From 25 candidates declared by us in Gujarat, having 26 seats, all except three have filed their nominations till date. Candidates of Amreli, Navsari and Junagadh will file their nominations on Wednesday, which is the last day of filing papers," said Manish Doshi, spokesprson of Gujarat Congress.
Apparently, BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who is contesting from Vadodara seat, will file his nomination on Wednesday, claimed a party official.
With 15 nominations today, only Modi is now left in BJP to file his papers. As of now 25 of BJP candidates have filed their papers till today.
Apart from Rawal, BJP candidates from Surat, Navsari, Bardoli, Mehsana and Jamnagar too filed their nominations.
Keeping up with the pace, 13 AAP candidates too filed their nominations, taking their tally to 19.
Major AAP contenders, who filed their nominations, include builder Rituraj Mehta from Gandhinagar, who is pitted against BJP's veteran leader L K Advani and senior AAP leader Dinesh Vaghela from Ahmedabad (East), pitted against BJP's Paresh Rawal.
The last date of filing of nomination papers is April 9.
