The Times of Oman Readers' Club handed over USD 11,388 for Muscat-based class 12 student Jimesh Soni, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for brain tumour in India.
The sum was handed over to his mother Chetna Narendra Soni to help meet the medical expenses.
"We will always be grateful to the Times of Oman Readers' Club for helping us. We don't have words to express our gratitude," she was quoted as saying by the Times of Oman.
He is currently undergoing treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai.
While Jimesh and his father have returned to India for treatment, his mother has stayed back in Oman to support the family and pay for the treatment.
