Shares of Hero MotoCorp today fell by over 1 per cent as the strike by transporters in Haryana hit half of the company's despataches from Gurgaon and Dharuhera plants.
Scrip of India's two-wheeler market leader went down by 1.15 per cent to settle at Rs 2,977.10 on the BSE. During the day, it fell by 1.48 per cent to Rs 2,967.05.
At the NSE, it lost 1.24 per cent to Rs 2,977.
"The transporters' strike today has impacted the despatches from our plants in Gurgaon and Dharuhera. We could despatch only half of our average daily despatches from these two plants today," the company said in a filing to the BSE.
The company has a daily average despatch of around 12,000 units in the off-season around this time of the year from the two plants.
Hero MotoCorp said it is trying to make alternative arrangements to minimise further impact.
