Heroin worth Rs 40 cr seized; 2 arrested

Eight-kg heroin worth Rs 40 crore, allegedly smuggled into the country from Pakistan, was seized and two persons were arrested in this connection today.
Parmod Kumar and Kashmir Singh, residents of Amritsar, were held by a police team of Tarn Taran district after the contraband was seized from their possession, according to officials.
Both accused had criminal record and were in touch with criminals lodged in Amritsar central jail, they said.
