HI ropes in MCL as principal partner for CT

Hockey India today roped in Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, as their new principal partner for the upcoming Hero Champions Trophy to be held in Bhubaneswar from December 6 to 14.
Being one of the most supportive organisations towards hockey as a sport, MCL, one of the largest subsidiaries of Coal India Limited, has been associated with the Hero Hockey India League as the co-owner for the Kalinga Lancers' team.
MCL now takes a leap ahead and will be seen as the principal partner of the Hero Hockey Champions Trophy 2014.
"Sports friendly organisations such as CIL/MCL, are those integral well-wishers and supporters of the game who along with us want to see hockey growing in all parts of the world. I am thankful to CIL/MCL for extending their support and would like to congratulate them on becoming the principal partner for the Hero Hockey Champions Trophy 2014," HI CEO Elena Norman said after the signing of the agreement here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Animesh Nandan Sahay, Chairman-cum-Managing Director MCL and Vice President of Coal India Sports Promotion Association (CISPA) said: "Mahanadi Coalfields, a leading subsidiary of energy major Coal India Limited, engaged 24x7 in coal mining with a resolve to work tirelessly towards excellence, and promoting excellence through sports too, takes pride in its association as principal partner of the Hero Hockey Champions Trophy 2014."
The Champions Trophy will see eight teams fighting it out for the top prize. India is placed is Pool B along side Netherlands, Germany and Argentina while defending champions Australia are placed in Pool A along with England, Belgium and Pakistan.
