There was no significant change in temperature in mid and lower hills, although the sky remained partially overcast with chilly winds sweeping the region.
Rohtang Pass, Kunzam Pass, Saach Pass and Pin Parvati Valley received mild snowfall but the passes were open to traffic, officials said.
The higher reaches in Kinnaur, Lahaul, Spiti and Pangi received fresh snowfall. More snowfall is expected in coming days, the MeT office said.
Springs, lakes, rivulets and tributaries of major rivers have started freezing in high altitude areas.
Quick Response Teams have been formed to meet any exigency and a 24-hour disaster management control room with toll free number 1077 has been set up, they said.
The weatherman has predicted dry weather in mid and lower hills over next six days with marginal drop in mercury.
