According to Bharathirajaa Specialty Hospital, Consultant and Senior Director, Dr Arumugam S, who performed the procedure, the Minister successfully underwent "revision of total hip replacement" surgery on May 16.
Talking to reporters, here, Arumugam said, William in an accident sustained multiple fractures which included a fracture in the neck of femur in his right hip.
"Though he was taken to London for emergency treatment, during a surgery, his right leg was shortened by two centimetres compared to the normal height of a leg. Due to this he developed a limp while walking along with a painful gait", he said.
During this surgery, the length of his leg difference was also corrected enabling William to walk without pain and also without any limp, he said.
