Some unidentified persons surrounded the history-sheeter Naeem Turk alias Rajawas and opened fire at him indiscriminately, killing him on the spot over past enmity, Superintendent of Police (city) Anil Kumar Yadav said.
In the incident, two passersby Imran and Ranu were also injured, Yadav said.
They were rushed to a hospital, where their condition is stated to be stable.
Heavy police force has been deployed in the area, where tension is prevailing, the SP said, adding that situation is in control.
