Holi: UP roadways to run more buses; restricts leave of staff

To cater to the festive rush during Holi, Uttar Pradesh roadways will run more bus services and has also put restrictions on leave for its staff from March 20 to March 27.
Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has restricted all its employees from taking leave between March 20-27 and instead implemented the 'Protsahan Yojana' as an incentive for them, said Shyam Babu, Service Manager of UPSRTC Meerut division.
Under the Yojana, technical workers will be given Rs 850 for working regularly in that period while the driver and conductor will be given Rs 2,800 as compensation for eight days and 55p per kilometre will be given for travel beyond 2,400km, he said.
Roadways officials will be present at bus stands to manage the operations while a team of technical staff is being deployed for maintenance work, Babu said.
Buses will ply from afternoon on Holi, which will be celebrated .
