"The weather today was quite unpleasant as the mercury shot up to 42 degrees Celsius. No rainfall was reported from any part of the city," a MeT official said.
The minimum temperature stood at 22 degrees Celsius, while the humidity in the air oscillated between 14 per cent and 56 per cent.
Observatories at Ayanagar recorded 43.2 degrees Celsius, Ridge at 43.5 degrees Celsius and Lodhi at 42 degrees Celsius.
"Partly cloudy skies with chances of dust storm and thunder storm in the evening or night are forecast for tomorrow," the weatherman said.
The maximum and minimum temperatures forecast for tomorrow are 41 degrees Celsius and 24 degreed Celsius respectively.
