The maximum temperature rose to 42.3 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average, while the minimum hit 29 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal, MeT department officials said.
The humidity in air oscillated between 38 and 70 per cent.
Yesterday the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.1 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.7 degrees.
The weatherman has predicted overcast conditions for tomorrow.
"The sky will be partly cloudy tomorrow. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover at 40 and 26 degrees respectively," a MeT department official said.
