Hot weather conditions prevailed in most parts of Punjab and Haryana, where Hisar registered a maximum temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius today.
Bhiwani and Karnal in Haryana recorded above normal maximum temperatures of 41.6 and 39.5 degrees Celsius, respectively, a Meteorological Department report said here.
Chandigarh, the common capital of Haryana and Punjab, registered a maximum temperature of 38.5 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Ludhiana recorded an above normal maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, while Patiala and Amritsar recorded 40.2 and 39.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
According to the MeT forecast for the next two days, light rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab.
