Hotel electrician held for obscene gestures to foreign tourist

An electrician of a hotel has been arrested for allegedly making explicit sexual overtures towards a foreign tourist in her room.
The alleged incident occurred last night when he was sent to the room for fixing some electrical problem.
According to the SHO (Ratanada) Indra Singh, a Spanish female tourist had come to Jodhpur on September 5 and was staying in the hotel Park Plaza.
"On Tuesday late night, she encountered some electrical problem in her room, due to which the lights of her room went out. She intimated the reception and an electrician Chhotelal, who lives in hotel campus itself, was sent to rectify the problem," said Singh.

In her complaint, she has alleged that after fixing the problem, Chhotelal suddenly turned towards her, dropped his pant and offered her to have intercourse
When she resisted, he tried to grab her, the complaint says.

The woman scolded him and threatened to raise an alarm, after which he fled from the room, the complaint adds.
In the morning, she told her local guide about the incident and both of them complained to the hotel manager, who tendered an apology and took both of them to the police to register a complaint against the electrician, the SHO said.
"We registered the case under section 354(A) of IPC on her complaint, recorded her statements and arrested Chhotelal after preliminary interrogation," Singh said.
