HP IAS cadre strength to go up from 129 to 149

The state government had requested the Centre for raising the strength to 148 but Union government has notified revised strength of 147 offices, an official spokesman here said.

The government had posted non-cadre officers in many departments due to shortage of IAS cadre officers.

At present, 23 IAS officers of state cadre are on deputation to the government of India.

The increase in cadre would also open avenues for promotion of Himachal Administrative Service officers facing stagnation.
