HP police stops cremation, sends woman's body for post mortem

Police today stopped the cremation of a woman who died under mysterious circumstances at Mukol village, after her family suspected foul play.
Sulochana Devi (51), who was found dead last night at her residence, had allegedly committed suicide.
Her family suspected foul play when her body was taken for cremation without being sent for post mortem, and filed a complaint, according to police.
Police arrived at the spot and sent the body for post mortem.
Further investigations are in progress, they said.
Meanwhile, a man was killed on the spot and two others seriously wounded when the car they were travelling in fell into a ditch near Bounkhari Moron on the Chamba-Pathankot highway about 12 km from Chamba today, police said.

Ajay Verma (30) of Ludhiana, died after the car rolled into a deep ditch while his companions Kulvinder and Rajan suffered injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital at Dalhousie for treatment.
A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered at the Dalhousie police station.
