The Haryana Police has arrested a murder convict who had jumped parole 14 years ago, a spokesman said Monday.
Satpal alias Pala, a resident of Alipur village in Jind, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in 2004, he said.
Satpal came out of the jail on a six-week parole on November 5, 2004. However, he failed to return to the jail at the end of his parole on December 18, 2004 and was declared a proclaimed offender, the spokesman said.
Acting on a tip-off that Satpal is working as a priest in a temple, police arrested him from Moga town, he added.
