Continuing its crackdown on illicit liquor smuggling, Haryana Police today seized 1380 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 600 bottles of beer in Kurukshetra district.
Police have also arrested two persons, a spokesman of Haryana Police said, adding that they had received a tip-off about the vehicle carrying the illicit liquor.
When a police team signalled the driver to stop at a blockade, he accelerated and tried to flee. But the car was intercepted and upon searching, the liquor bottles were recovered, the spokesman said.
The arrested persons were identified as Sanjeev Kumar hailing from Kamoda and Rakesh Kumar, a resident of village Jogna Khera.
A case under the provisions of the Excise Act was registered against them and further investigation was being carried out.
