Hry vigorously pursued strengthening digital infra: Khattar

Haryana vigorously pursued strengthening of digital infrastructure and ensured rollout of National Optic Fibre Network to 4,051 gram panchayats and connected 1,277 offices to State Wide Area Network, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar told Assembly today.
He said WiFi facility has also been provided in 119 gram panchayats and all police stations have been connected with district and state headquarters through Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System.
Khattar was replying to a Calling Attention Notice moved by MLA Gian Chand Gupta in the ongoing Budget session of the state Assembly.
The Chief Minister said the three pillars of 'Digital India' vision - infrastructure as a service, e-governance and services on demand and empowerment of citizens - have been adopted and taken forward vigorously in the state.

"Since 2014 (when BJP came to power in the state), Haryana has taken multiple steps for using technology to bring in transparency, reduce delays, end corruption and create a progressive state digital economy," he said.
Khattar said the state has ushered in 'e-Kranti (revolution)' by providing more than 170 departmental services of 24 departments online to citizens through a network of more than 4,000 Atal Seva Kendras in villages and 125 e-Disha Kendras at district and block levels.

To bridge the digital divide, the state has taken rapid strides in promoting digital literacy and information technology skills among its citizens, he said.

The state has trained 2.26 lakh candidates in digital literacy and 1.31 lakh have earned digital literacy certificates. Information technology skills were imparted to more than 50,000 persons, Khattar said.
The Chief Minister said to promote cashless transactions, the state transferred one-time welcome appreciation money of Rs 5 in the bank accounts of the citizens who opted for cashless modes of transaction.
