The Haryana Assembly Monday congratulated all the 18 sportspersons from the state who have won medals at the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta recently.
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Anil Vij informed the House that sportspersons from India won total 69 medals in these games at Indonesia's capital Jakarta including 15 gold, 24 silver and 30 bronze medals.
Out of these, Haryana won 6 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze, he said.
Vij said that all these players will be provided prize money and jobs as per the sports policy of the state.
Under this, the gold medal winners would get Rs 3 crore, silver medallists will get Rs. 1.5 crore and bronze winners will get Rs 75 lakh as cash prize.
