A day after one person died after falling off from a temple wall while witnessing a gas cylinder explosion here, the Kachiguda police today booked a case under section 304 of IPC and under relevant sections of other Acts in connection with the incident.
"A case under section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and other relevant sections of IPC besides under different provisions of Essential Commodities Act and Explosives Substances Act has been registered in connection with the incident," Kachiguda SHO A Laxmi Narayana said.
One person died and five others were injured after a group of persons fell off a temple wall while witnessing a gas cylinder explosion and the resultant fire at Nimboliadda area here yesterday.
A hunt has been launched to nab the owner of the "illegal" gas cylinder filling unit - Bijju Singh and others who are at large, Narayana said.
According to the Kachiguda police, the explosion and the resultant fire spread to adjoining houses when gas was being filled into small cylinders from big ones at an "illegal" gas filling unit last night.
Telangana BJP president and local MLA G Kishan Reddy had also visited the site to enquire about the incident when subsequent explosions occurred. A group of people had climbed the nearby temple wall to watch the fire.
Of the five injured, two are stated to be critical, police said adding further investigations were on.
