Two officials of the state Food and Supplies Department were today suspended by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda following complaints about irregularities in distribution of ration under a food scheme.
Panipat's District Food and Supplies Controller Dilbag Singh Doon and District Food and Supplies Officer Ashok Kumar were suspended for alleged irregularities in Dal Roti Scheme, an official release said.
Hooda also ordered suspension of Panipat Tehsildar Suresh Kumar for allegedly making registries in unauthorised colonies on the basis of power of attorney, it said.
Hooda was here today to preside over a meeting of the Panipat District Administration to review the ongoing developmental works and schemes of the state government, the release said.
On the issue of no power connections in Garh Sarnai village to the beneficiaries of Mahatma Gandhi Gramin Basti Yojna (MGGBY), Hooda directed officials of the power utility to fix responsibility of an officer at the earliest and said if any irregularity was found, a report should be submitted to him.
Under the scheme, the state government allots free residential plots to eligible SC, Backward Class and BPL families in villages.
Panipat Deputy Commissioner Ajit Joshi informed the CM that under the scheme, plots had been allotted to 25,919 beneficiaries in 140 villages of the district.
Joshi assured the Chief Minister that a report would be submitted about power and water supplies to these plots within two days.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gauri Parashar Joshi said a proposal has been sent to the government for regularisation of 67 colonies.
Haryana Chief Minister also directed officials of the power utilities to provide electricity to Rahimpur Kheri village on the border of Haryana.
There is no power supply in the village even after 65 years of independence, said the release.
Residents of Rahimpur Kheri along with its MLA Dharambir Chokker had met Hooda over the issue.
