The city will play host to the second edition of All Light India International Film Festival (ALIIFF) and Indywood Film Market (IFM) which will be organised in August next year.
The events will be held by "Project Indywood", an initiative of film industry professionals in India and NRIs, at Ramoji Film City here between August 17-21.
The global film and media fraternity like producers, directors, exhibitors, buyers, sales agent, stunts men, global equipment manufacturers amongst others will participate, a release stated today.
The first edition of All Lights India International Film Festival (ALIIFF) and Indywood Film Market (IFM) was held in Kochi last month.
Sohan Roy S K, the Founder Director of Indywood, said Indywood will enable the Indian film industry to bridge the existing gap and help Indian films to be made for a global audience.
"We see tremendous opportunities for Indian film industry due to the variety and the depth the industry offers," he said.
Ramoji Group head, Ramoji Rao said, "the event will enable Indian film industry to gain insights into taking our industry to the next level and compete with global players".
The event aims at providing a platform for global film industry to portray excellence in film making, aids to inspire, nurture and integrate the Indian cinema industry, thereby facilitating congregation of people and nations.
"India has the largest number of theatres and also it produces the largest number of films across several Indian languages. However, the average realisation per ticket in India is USD 1 when compared to global average of USD 10. The gap is primarily due to lack of use of technology and non-integrated regional functioning of the eco-system," the release stated.
The ALIIFF stands for 'Cinema for Knowledge'.
The film festival is expected to witness the participation from more than 70 countries, 1,000 international delegates, 3,000 film market delegates, and more than 1,500 film submissions and 7,000 film delegates, the release added.
