Hyderabad: human rights body seeks report on stray dog menace

The Telangana State Human Rights Commission today directed the commissioner of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to submit report over a complaint of stray dogs attacking children.
Balala Hakkula Sangham, an NGO working for child rights, has approached the Commission stating that 11 children were attacked by stray dogs in Kamakshipuram area yesterday.
"The GHMC authorities are least bothered about eradicating the stray dog menace," said honorary president of the NGO, Achyuta Rao, in the petition before the Commission, demanding compensation for victims.
The Commission issued a notice to GHMC commissioner, asking for a report by June 19.
