The 21-year-old 'Problem' singer said there is a high standard set by people for women so it is difficult for her to be easy on herself, reported Contactmusic.
"Of course (I am critical). A little too critical. It's been a part of my personal growth to be a little nicer to myself. Everyone needs to be a little nicer to themselves.
It's so hard for women not to be critical about themselves when there's such a high bar set for what is acceptable," she said, adding that she decided it is better to concentrate on being a good person than good-looking.
