I am unanimous leader of CLP: Bahuguna

Amid talks about a section of Congress MLAs lobbying with the Central leadership for his continuance in office, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna today asserted there is no faction in the party and he is the unanimous leader of CLP.
"I want to make it clear that I have no faction within the party. I am unanimous leader of the Congress Legislature Party," he told reporters here.
Bahuguna was responding to questions on whether a section of party MLAs loyal to him had gone to Delhi to lobby with the Central leadership to ensure that there is no change of guard in the state.

He said he enjoys the support of 41 Congress and non-Congress MLAs and is their unanimous leader.
Bahuguna clarified that some party MLAs, most of them first-timers, did go to Delhi but they did not go to "save my chair" as speculated in a section of the media but to see the proceedings of Parliament, especially the debate on Food Security Bill.
Terming the speculation as completely unfounded, he said the MLAs watched proceedings of Parliament and also met AICC chief Sonia Gandhi.
Ever since the natural calamity struck the state in June this year, there has been speculation that the party high command was not happy with the way the state government had handled the crisis and may even go for a change of guard.
