I&B Ministry decides to suspend Censor Board CEO Rakesh Kumar

The Information and Broadcasting ministry has decided to suspend Rakesh Kumar, CEO of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), who has been arrested by CBI in connection with a case of alleged bribery.
"A decision has been taken to suspend Rakesh Kumar and the order in this regard has been signed", a senior official said.
A senior official said Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has a zero tolerance approach towards corruption and the ministry is following set procedures in the matter.
Sharavan Kumar, CEO of Children Film Society India (CFSI), will be given the additional charge as the CEO of CBFC till further orders, officials said.
Rakesh Kumar was arrested in Mumbai yesterday for allegedly demanding Rs 70,000 as bribe for clearing a regional movie from Chhattisgarh.
He was produced before the Special CBI court in Mumbai which sent him to three-day CBI remand for further questioning.
