I-Day celebrated in Andaman & Nicobar Islands with fervour
Lt Governor Lt Gen A.K Singh (Retd) hoisted the National Flag at the famous Netaji stadium here and said opening of the new medical college and introduction of chartered flights from Chennai/Vizag to Port Blair had met the long pending demands of the people.
He also said tourism in the Islands was poised for great development in the year ahead.
He conferred commendation certificates to 12 persons on the occasion.
The Independence Day was also celebrated in different areas of Nicobar district.
