Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal today congratulated Narendra Modi on his victory in the recently-concluded Lok Sabha polls and said he hoped that the new Prime Minister "will fulfil people's dreams".
Kejriwal, however, attacked the Modi-led BJP government at the Centre for the electricity supply crisis which has hit the national capital and claimed that the situation had been better when AAP had been in power in Delhi.
"BJP should fix the power crisis in Delhi. We demand that the central government extend the power and water subsidies which we (AAP) gave to the public," Kejriwal said, adding that AAP MPs will raise these issues in Parliament.
Commenting on the recent incident in which a Muslim youth was killed in an alleged communal incident in Pune, Kejriwal said that his party condemns the act and demanded stern action against the culprits.
Kejriwal also urged the Centre to not to raise the prices of gas and opposed the proposed 100 per cent FDI in defence.
"According to reports in the media, the new government is planning to double gas prices. If that happens, the prices of power and food items will increase. We appeal to the BJP government against a hike in gas prices," he said.
Kejriwal further said that 100 per cent FDI in defence "should not happen (as) the defence of the country will go into the hands of foreigners".
