Awaiting the audience response to the forthcoming release Saheed, Raj told PTI, "I want to explore every genre. The script should make sense to me, But complexiities in character egg me on."
"There are so many characters I would love to work on. I was simply taken over by performances like Daniel Day Lewis (as Christy Brown) in My Left Foot," Raj said when asked if he had any dream role..
"Again I have respect for Aamir Khan and Irrfan Khan So you understand," he said.
"Wherever it went everyone loved it. It was an inspiring tale of a youth who wanted justice to prevail and who wanted everyone in life to fight for himself," he said.
Turning to Kai Po Che, which got him acclaim across different genres, Raj said, "I had read the paperback and I was fascinated by the character who is passionate to make money and the turns and twists in his life."
Directed by Ajay Behl he would just dub this yet untitled film "As different."
When told all the new flicks are bound to be 'different', and prodded more he said "All I can say it is a very human film with very human sensibilities."
Apparently frustrated over the current status of his Bengali debut film in the role of an eunuch, he said "It was one complex role I had always wanted to portray. But don't know what happened after 80 per cent of shooting was completed."
Saheed director Hansel Mehta, who would not categorise his film as independent genre, said "We live in a divided world and my film is a reflection of our times."
"Saheed talks about the power of common man and how are you expecting the circumstances," he said.
"And I chose Mumbai as it represents the world And such a melting point of culture."
Produced by UTV Spot Boy 'Saheed' will be released by this month.
