The 38-year-old actor said people started over-focusing on his sexuality after he explored gay themes on-screen in "Milk," "I Am Michael" and behind the camera in "Interior. Leather Bar," reported People magazine.
"If your definition of gay and straight is who I sleep with, then I guess you could say I'm a tease. It's where my allegiance lies, where my sensibilities lie, how I define myself. Yeah, I'm a little gay, and there's a gay James," he said.
Franco's latest film, "King Cobra," is another project in which the star takes on the leading role of a gay man.
