TV actor Karan Patel has teamed up with media mogul Ekta Kapoor again for new show 'Ye Hai Mohobbatein', which will see him playing a mature character.
Karan, 30, who gained popularity in showbiz with Kapoor's shows like 'Kasturi', 'Kasamh Se' and 'Kkavyanjali', said she is a mentor.
"Ekta is the guiding force in my life. I have always listened to her as she has given a new high to my career. I share a comfort level with Ekta. I have always believed in her," Karan told PTI.
With the show, which will go on air from December 3 on Star Plus, Karan is making a comeback in fiction after four years.
"It feels nice to make a comeback to fiction genre with Ekta's show. Working with her is always a pleasure. I am busy with reality shows these days but I couldn't say no to her," said Karan, who participated in 'Nach Baliye 3' and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' season six.
'Ye Hai Mohobbatein' is a love story of a middle-age man and a young girl. The story begins after a marriage gets over and explores the theme of a second chance in love.
"Portraying the character (Raman Bhalla) was a challenge for me. He is a rich businessman with a daughter from his failed marriage. The role is much older to my original age," he said.
Karan was last seen in an anthology series 'Teri Meri Love Stories'. Asked if he has a fascination towards romantic stories, he said, "I don't like love stories. It's just a coincidence that my last fiction show was also a love story. But both of them are very different.
