After working in couple of romantic dramas, actor Shaad Randhawa says he was little apprehensive on signing adult comedy "Mastizaade" as he thought doing comedy is a tricky business.
Shaad will be seen as a reel-life fiance of actress Sunny Leone in the Milap Zaveri directed film. The movie also stars Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das.
"I was apprehensive in the beginning when Milap approached me for the role. I have never done comedy. It is very difficult to make people laugh...There is always a thin line between audience laughing with you or at you," Shaad told PTI.
The film features Sunny in a dual role and Shaad will be seen as a wheel-chair bound army aspirant man 'Deshpremee Singh', engaged to one of the characters played by the actress.
The 37-year-old actor said he was quite surprised to get positive feedback for his role from his co-stars, Tusshar and Vir and said even Sunny's husband, Daniel liked his work.
"Daniel loved my character the most in the movie. He really liked me in the film and I was very happy to know that. Even Tusshar and Vir, who is a stand up comedian himself, appreciated my work. I wasn't expecting this reaction. It was very surprising," Shaad said.
The actor has earlier worked mostly in romantic dramas like "Aashiqui 2", "Ek Vilain" and "Awarapan".
Heaping praises on Sunny, he said contrary to popular notion that adult comedies are a cake walk, the "Jism 2" actress has worked really hard for her role.
"It was amazing working with Sunny. She is very professional, down to earth and fantastic. She is playing a double role that of two sisters. One is hot, the other is dorky. She would go change and come back becoming a different person for a shot.
"People might believe there is not much hard work going while working in an adult comedy but it was difficult and she has done a great job."
The actor says he currently wants to try different genres and is also open to work with his long time collaborator, director Mohit Suri, for his upcoming "Half Girlfriend".
