"If I grew from being an ordinary worker to be the Governor of Maharashtra, as being reported in media, it is because of BJP leaders and workers. It definitely makes me happy, but it is a responsibility. I will carry out my responsibilities in the right manner. I will see to it that none of you feel that our Vidyasagar Rao is not functioning properly," he said, speaking after being felicitated at the state BJP headquarters here.
"I will discharge my duties effectively in accordance with the Constitution of India," Vidyasagar Rao told reporters later.
"We have to think over it. As Governor, in accordance with the Constitution, we will decide priorities," he said, when asked if he had any specific priorities as Governor of Maharashtra.
Replying to a query on transfers and resignations of Governors appointed by the UPA regime, he said: "I don't feel that there are controversies. When there are no controversies, there is nothing to comment".
