IAF airlifts 264 stranded civilians from Jammu

Coming to the rescue of stranded passengers in Jammu, the Indian Air Force today airlifted 264 stranded passengers from the winter capital to Leh.
IAF launched a special sortie to airlift 264 stranded passengers, from Jammu to Leh, a IAF spokesman said.
The IL-76 transport aircraft of the IAF was pressed into service, to ferry the stranded civilians, mostly hailing from Leh and Kargil Districts of the Ladakh region of J&K.
A total of 264 passengers, which included 40 ladies and children, were airlifted today by the special IAF sortie, he said.
