Sumit Jaiswal, hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his official quarter at Uttarlai air force station yesterday.
The body was shifted to the mortuary of the district hospital and his family members in Guwahati were informed about the incident, SP, Gagandeep Singla said.
"The body will be handed over to the family after they arrive here," he said, adding "the matter is being probed.
