IAS officer's death: K'tka govt sends two officials to UP

The Karnataka government has sent its two senior officials to Lucknow to get details of the death of state-cadre IAS officer Anurag Tiwari, mysteriously found dead beside a road in Lucknow today morning.
"To get complete details about Anurag Tiwari's death,the chief minister has sent IAS officers Abhiram Shankar and Pankaj Kumar Pandey to Lucknow," CMO officials said.
Tiwari, a 2007 batch Karnataka cadre IAS officer, serving as Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department's commissioner was found dead under mysterious circumstances beside a road in Hazratganj area of Lucknow today morning.
The officer was staying at a guest house in Hazratganj for the last two days.

Condoling Tiwari's death, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also tweeted about deputing two officers to Lucknow andsaid he is in constant touch with the Uttar Pradesh government.
Earlier, he told reporters that "he (Tiwari)had gone to his native place, don't know what happened. His death is accidental... He was of young age. It should not have happened."

The chief minister also recalled that Tiwari had served as deputy commissioner in Bidar and Kodagudistricts before being transferred to the Food and Civil Supplies Department.
Food and Civil Supplies Minister U T Khader said in April end, Tiwari had sought permission for IAS training, and had again sought extension on May 10.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje termed the death as "suspicious" and said she has written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking a thorough probe into it.
"What makes this tragic event look murkier is the fact that even before the probe commenced, the media has been putting out a story that the officer in question had afight with his wife," she said in her letter.
"I strongly feel that there is something morethan what meets the eye in this episode. Only a thoroughenquiry can bring out the truth," she said.
