Abhijnan Chakraborty who topped the ICSE Class 12 examination in the country today gave credit of his stellar success to his mother, a businesswoman.
Chakraborty, a student of Lilavatibai Podar High School in the city, scored aggregate of 99.5%.
"I practiced with proper planning and did hard work as much as I could do. During all these days, my mother who is a businesswomen, constantly inspired me and gave useful instruction to follow my studies. I give my first credit to her only," he said.
Chakraborty said his teachers and staff of the school also contributed to his success.
The child of single-parent, Chakraborty said joining coaching classes didn't help him much.
Chakraborty said he wanted to become a scientist.
